Dr. Richard Dent, Volunteer Physician Community Health Mission measures its achievements in numbers, but true measure of success is in the reduction of suffering and improvement of individual health. Taken together, the individual improvement reflect a significant impact on the health and quality of life in our community. In terms of value, primary healthcare services provided by CHM to the community is estimated at $500 for every emergency diversion.
Community Health Mission provides basic medical coverage, for non-emergency condition. This program while is basic the details are what counts.

o Smoking Cessation program with medication and counseling
o A cultural appropriate women’s health program in partnership with the NBLIC-III funded by the American Cancer Society
o Self-management diabetes and cardiovascular program: Amigos en Salud / Friends in Health program that assists Hispanic/African American patients and their family members to understand and self-manage diabetes and co-morbid depression through trained Community Health Workers (CHWs).
• Prescription Program (Patient Assistance Program for long term drug treatment). This program assist the uninsured in obtaining prescription medications free-of-charge from pharmaceutical companies. Once patient is approved by the pharmaceutical company he/she Patient will get a 90 days supply of medication. This program is conducted in partnership with MedBank, Inc
• Insulin and calibrated syringes for diabetic patients for those who are insulin dependent
• Glucometer and 100 diabetic strips during first visit for diabetic patients.
• Health information and awareness of our services; bilingual newspaper articles about health issues.
• Translation services for all patients (English into Spanish) 5 days a week during clinic ours
• Two convenient hours of operation Monday-Friday 8:30 am-3: 30 pm and Thursday from
4:30pm – 8:00 pm.
