The strength of this non-profit organization is dependant on the efforts of Health Care Providers. The Community Health Mission is always looking for health care practitioners such as doctors, physicians and nurses to help the thousands of working non-insured patients that visit the center. We encourage you to come in and meet with the Executive Director of the center Dr. Miriam Rittmeyer.

David Gaskin, MD, Volunteer Physician- Internal Medicine
The Georgia Volunteer Program allows all doctors and health care practitioners, such as physicians, nurses, dentist, etc, to volunteer their services to the uninsured without concern of liability, increasing access to quality healthcare and ensuring healthier, more productive lives for their patients. The State of Georgia assumes liability and is responsible for litigation as long as the volunteer healthcare provider acted within the scope of services and the healthcare is free to the patient.

Barbara Richardson- Volunteer RN
In 2006 CHM implemented this program with successful results. By the end of 2006, CHM has recruited 20 volunteer physicians (retired and active) in different specialties and 15 volunteer nurses. In 2006 alone, healthcare volunteers provided 605 service hours which translates into $151,150 in kind-donations. The availability of volunteer health care providers is critical in order to maintain the quality of services our organization provides.
